The celebrated Neave Trio performs the world premiere of Paleface by Russell Steinberg and Moon Trio by Robert Paterson. Steinberg's Paleface is inspired and accompanied by projections of paintings by celebrated New York pop artist Jerry Kearns. It explores the mythology of the American hero, from the Wild West cowboy to the film noir detective and the contemporary action hero. Paterson's Moon Trio explores different lunar moods in four movements: Moonbeams, Lunatic Asylum, Blue Moon, and Moon Trip. The program also includes Leonard Bernstein's brilliant early piano trio written when he was a student at Harvard University.
