Music: The First Five Seconds —A Toolbox for Music Listening
Music: The First Five Seconds —A Toolbox for Music Listening
What it means to really listen.
We all know what music we like and what we don’t. We know what sounds good and what sounds awful. We pride ourselves that we have pretty good musical taste, even if we might not know that much about music. And our convictions are unshakeable. ‘We’ are pretty much every music listener I have met, and I include myself. This series questions these beliefs, but then goes on to offer an approach that will let you hear things you have never noticed before. It will be as if you are hearing for the first time in “3D.”
