Ruby Overture for Chamber Ensemble op. 39a
Ruby Overture for Chamber Ensemble op. 39a
$45.00
I composed the Ruby Overture originally as a tribute to Ken and Wendy Ruby, tremendous philanthropists who built the fourth classroom annex at Milken Community High School. I later revised the piece for full orchestra and we performed it in several cities in Europe. This original chamber version is scored for 2 flutes, 1 oboe, 2 clarinets, timpani, 2 pianos, 2 violins, viola, and cello.
This is a festive overture, full of fanfares with propulsion from continuous eighth notes and some irregular 5/4 measures. Makes an effective encore piece.
Instrumentation: 2 flutes, 1 oboe, 2 clarinets, timpani, 2 pianos, 2 violins, viola, and cello. Duration: 3 minutes
