Filmmaker Diana Friedberg Discusses Her New Max Steiner Documentary

Diana Friedberg has created the first substantial documentary devoted to film composer Max Steiner. Steiner and Eric Wolfgang Korngold are acknowledged “founding fathers” of film music. Friedberg follows Steiner from his youth in Austria where and his associations with Richard Strauss, to his career conducting Broadway musicals, and finally to his incredibly prolific Hollywood film scores that essentially define the genre.
